After School Enrichment

Providing structured academic support, tutoring, and recreation for 225+ students each school day.

Schedule
Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM, during the Jersey City Public Schools calendar (September–June)
Program features
Free academic and enrichment program including certified teacher tutoring, STEAM workshops, recreation, healthy meals and snacks, reading & math assessments, arts & culture, and participation in a STEM MakerLab at Liberty Science Center.
Enrollment
Free to families (with a one-time $50 registration fee or waived when necessary). Space is allocated by grade (20–25 students per grade); registration by application each year.

About

The Team Walker After School Program is a free, safe, structured environment for students in Jersey City from 3 PM to 6 PM, Monday through Friday. We offer academic support through tutoring and homework help, as well as targeted lessons in math and language arts, to ensure students succeed in the classroom. Beyond academics, our program fosters character development through activities that teach responsibility and teamwork. Students also get to enjoy sports and creative enrichment activities, all while receiving a nutritious hot meal and healthy snacks.

Special Needs Program

At Team Walker, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. Our Special Needs Learning Program, offered within the After School Program, provides individualized support to ensure children with diverse learning needs receive the attention and resources they deserve. Through small-group instruction, one-on-one guidance, and tailored activities, our team works to reinforce academic skills, build confidence, and encourage social development.
