Career at Saint Anthony’s High School
A four time high school All-American and collegiate standout , Jerry Walker, the 6'7" 240 pound powerhouse excelled as one of New Jersey hardest working basketball players. A product of Jersey City’s tough streets and Bob Hurley’s St. Anthony’s High School, Jerry became the first freshman and only player to start on a varsity team in the history of St. Anthony's, a record yet to be broken. Jerry led St. Anthony's to four State Champions and was an integral part of the now infamous 1989 National Championship team. Jerry was awarded the Eastman Award in 1989, selected as one of the top five high school players in the Metropolitan Area. He has also been awarded the Star-Ledger’s All-Time Top 50 Basketball Players in the State of NJ
Career at Seton Hall University Basketball
Jerry’s basketball career continued to excel as a power forward for Seton Hall University. He led the Pirates to three consecutive trips to the NCAA Tournament, including Final 8 and Sweet 16 finishes. Along the way, Walker laid claim to the ESPN Post Player of the year award; Metropolitan player of the year and earned second team All Big East recognition. Jerry became known as one of the all time favorite Pirates due to his tenacity and dedication. These qualities where the driving force behind a stellar collegiate career

After college, Walker continued to showcase his talents professionally. He has played overseas in Spain, Turkey, France, Puerto Rico, Lithuania and in the United States

Today, Jerry provides opportunities for under privileged kids through his nonprofit organization, Team Walker founded in 1996. His goal is to uplift and create positive alternatives for the youth of Jersey City through full year programs, which enlighten the participants with the importance of solid academics, teamwork and sportsmanship. Jerry and Team Walker are proud to make a difference in the lives of children.

Forward, Seton Hall University, Ht. 6-7, Wt. 245 High School: St. Anthony High School, Jersey City, NJ Birth date: February 5, 1971 (Jersey City, NJ)
Became the 22nd player in Seton Hall history to surpass the 1,000 point mark in his collegiate career, and concluded with 1,075 points in just three years.
Also became the 12th player in Pirate history to score over 1,000 points and grab over 600 rebounds in his career.
Concluded his career with a .530 shooting percentage (377-711), second best in school history.
Led Seton Hall to 76-25 (.752) record in his three seasons. During that span, Seton Hall won two BIG EAST Tournament titles, two BIG EAST regular season titles, and made three straight trips to the NCAA Tournament (advancing to the Final 8 in 1991, the Sweet 16 in 1992 and the second round m 1993).
Participant in the 1993 NABC-Embrarer All-Star Game at the Final Four. High school teammate of Terry Dehere (Seton Hall) and Bobby Hurley (Duke), and earned All-America honors while leading St. Anthony to No. 1 ranking in the country in senior year.
Selected BIG EAST Conference "Defensive Player in the Year" by the Conference's coaches.
Earned third team All-BIG EAST honors.
Was named to the BIG EAST Conference All-Tournament team. Scored 19 points and added five rebounds m the 103-70 BIG EAST Tournament championship game win over Syracuse.
Was named to the New Jersey College Basketball Coaches Association All-University Division team.
Named second team All-Metropolitan by the Metropolitan College Basketball Association.
Earned All-East (honorable mention) honors from USBWA and Basketball Times.
Was named to the Seton Hall/Meadowlands All-Tournament team.
Was a second team All-BIG EAST selection as a junior after averaging 13.7 points (second on the team) and 7.4 rebounds (team leader). Recorded seven double-doubles during the season, and scored in double figures and/or grabbed double figure rebounds in 27 of the Pirates' 32 games.
Was named "Player of the Year" by the New Jersey College Basketball Coaches Association, and was also first team All-Metropolitan. Was named BIG EAST "Player of the Week" (Feb. 2-8) after leading the Pirates to wins over Providence and Connecticut, both on the road.
Was named CBS-TV "Player of the Game" in Seton Hall victories over Connecticut and Missouri (NCAA Tournament second round).
Was named to the BIG EAST All-Rookie team following sophomore season.
Was also named Metropolitan Division I "Rookie of the Year" by the Metropolitan College Basketball Association. Selected to the Metropolitan College Basketball Association fourth team.
Was recognized for his ability to play through nagging injuries.
Was named BIG EAST Rookie of the Week (February 10-16, 1991) after a 9-point, 6-rebound effort against Pitt and 10-point, 9-rebound performance vs. Georgetown (a pair of Pirate wins).
